GET INVOLVED!

Do you or an adult family member have an interest in getting involved behind the scenes or being part of the action during NASA FL event weekends? Check out the many opportunities that are available for volunteers under the GET INVOLVED heading on the NASA FL web site.  There are positions available that can add excitement and responsibility to those who want to help out.  Some positions take minimal time and others can lead to "official" status with photo ID's and NASA uniform.  No experience is necessary....only a willingness to help and learn NASA procedures. Contact us at least 7 days prior to an event and we'll arrange for you to assist an experienced person or official in the area of you interest. If you enjoy the experience you will be welcomed back for additional training.   Get involved and have some fun as part of the growing NASA FL team!   E-mail Barbara Nix for questions & sign up details... NASA Uniform

NASA FL officials will be looking "sharp" this fall.  The new short sleeve khaki colored shirt is the "approved uniform" recognized by NASA Regions nationwide.  This easy care uniform is stain resistant and is an ideal weight for the warm FL climate.  The embroidered NASA Logo will make it easy to identify our key personnel on event weekends. NASA FL officials from Tech, Registration, Pit and Grid, Department Heads and Stewards will receive their uniform shirt at no charge.  Others, like HPDE INSTRUCTORS and Race TEAM LEADERS for NASA FL are invited to purchase this uniform for a low $18, which covers our cost.  Uniforms will be distributed starting in Sept at Moroso.

RACERS!  Plan ahead for 2006 racing events with NASA FL.

NASA FL will break away from our 2005 "Enduro Classing" format starting in Jan 2006.  All NASA approved race classes will be accepted for participation in FL region in 2006 EXCEPT "open wheel" classes.  Five of the most popular NASA race series will be the focus of NASA FL in 2006.... Honda Challenge (HC), American Iron (AI, AIX, AIV), Spec Miata (SM), Viper-Vette Challenge (VVC) and German Touring Series Challenge (GTS).  These are the series that have created the most "buzz" here in FL Region so far.  Research these exciting series and make your plans to run the full 2006 race season with NASA FL.  For a brief summary of the many race series and race class options that are offered thru NASA see the following link titled.  "Which class should I choose?"

Questions in regard to NASA FL's 2006 racing season can be directed to Race Director, Larry Mahanor  lmahanor@drivenasa.com
