event date…the weekend of November 15
& 16, 2008 at the BRAND NEW 2 mile paved road course at the
European
Rally
School & Motorsport
Park (ERS Motorsports) located NE of Gainesville
just 8 miles south of
Starke,
FL. Info regarding the track layout and driver
amenities will be on our web site soon! Circle Nov 15-16 on your calendar and be one of the FIRST to try out the
some “NEW” pavement with
NASA
FL. We’ll offer all activities that
weekend...HPDE, TT and sprint races.
Our NEXT track event is coming up quickly:
May 31 & June 1 at
Homestead
Miami
Speedway.
This event features:
HPDE 1, HPDE 2, HPDE 3, HPDE 4, NASA Time Trial (TT) and TWO
Regional sprint races each day. All
activities are offered both days. NASA
membership required.
HPDE & TT groups get FOUR track sessions per day (20-25
min ea)!
Register for Sat or Sun or for both days and get a special 2-day entry fee.
YES! We currently
have openings for HPDE 1 beginner slots both days, but hurry… Sat HPDE 1
slots are limited.

Choose “Official” and select “Instructor” in the drop down
box of options. Instructors also running in Time Trial competition are reminded
to notify the registrar, Barbara@drivenasa.com in a separate email after registering to
confirm TT car class.
HPDE NEWS:
Recent updates in the NASA FL HPDE program structure allows HPDE
Group 3 drivers to be evaluated for advancement to HPDE Grp 4 (unrestricted
passing) by way of a “check ride”. HPDE
3 level drivers seeking to upgrade to HPDE Grp 4 must have a very high level of
driving skill, 100% situation awareness PLUS knowledge of the HPDE rules as per
the NASA CCR. And YES, expect a written
test in addition to the check ride. Interested HPDE 3 drivers are encouraged to talk with their Group Leader
at the track.
RACER Reminder:
Effective
JUNE 2, 2008 all NASA
racers must use a head/ neck restraint
device that carries a SFI certification of 38.1. To be clear the device must be certified (not
just “meet” the specificiations). This is REQUIRED as of the June 21-22

NASA FL TT (Time
Trial):
*TT participants will
get a special 25 min shootout session on May 31 & June 1 at HMS. The final timed TT track session of the day on
Sat and Sun will be exclusively for TT participants. The start of the session will be staged by
fastest times from timed sessions earlier that day. HPDE 4 level drivers are invited to check out
the NASA
TT rules and get started in TT soon! NASA FL TT Director, Billy

AMB. We normally suggest the TranX260 Direct Powered Transponder, but
